1. Treats, not veterinary advice

PETCAKE cakes and treats are occasional pet foods. They are not complete and balanced diets, medicines, therapeutic foods or a substitute for veterinary advice.

Feed only to the species and life stage identified on the label or order confirmation. Keep treats away from children and animals for whom the product is not intended.

2. Ingredients and cross-contact

Read the final ingredient list, species suitability and allergen statement supplied with the product. Product-specific information takes priority over general website copy.

Unless a product expressly states a verified dedicated-production control, shared equipment or preparation areas may create cross-contact with other ingredients.

3. Allergies and medical diets

Tell PETCAKE about known pet allergies or dietary restrictions before the order is accepted. A checkout note is a request for review, not a guarantee that a product is suitable or free from a particular ingredient.

Ask the treating veterinarian before ordering or feeding a product to a pet with a diagnosed condition, severe allergy, previous food reaction, prescribed diet or uncertain tolerance.

4. Special requests

A special-diet or ingredient request becomes part of an order only when PETCAKE expressly confirms it. If the request cannot be met with reasonable confidence, we may decline the item before accepting the order.

Check the final label and order confirmation on receipt and raise any discrepancy before feeding the product.

5. Storage and use-by

Follow product-specific refrigeration, freezing, thawing, storage, transport and use-by instructions. Do not feed a product after its use-by date, if packaging is damaged, if temperature control has failed, or if it looks or smells unusual.

6. Serving and supervision

Serve treats in moderation and in a size suitable for the pet, with fresh water available. Supervise feeding and remove packaging, candles, decorations, skewers or other non-edible parts first.

7. If something seems wrong

Stop feeding the product, keep the remaining item and packaging where safe, record the order or batch details and contact PETCAKE promptly. If a pet is unwell or may have eaten something unsafe, seek veterinary advice promptly; in an emergency contact an emergency veterinarian.

8. Safety reports and rights

PETCAKE investigates credible safety reports, isolates affected stock and notifies customers or authorities where required. This policy does not exclude Australian Consumer Law rights for unsafe, faulty or incorrectly described products.
